Bhakatapur Durbar Square is located at Bhakatar District at
Central region of the Nepal and 15 Km east from the capital of Nepal . It also Capital of Nepal in Malla period and called
Tripra. The city is very old city of Nepal and the city was established by Ananda Dev in 12th Century. In
this square have many temple complex and monuments was built in 17th to 18th
century.

The most amazing
fact of this square is 55 windowed palace and 99 chowks was built by
Bhupatindra Malla in 1696 A.D. The palace is damaged by earthquake in 1934
A.D.and rebuilt. Now adays there is seven Chowk named as Mul Chowk, Bharati
chowk, Itt Chowk kumari Chowk Bhairav chowk etc. Each and every chowk has own
value and importance . Nyatpol is the
famous temple which is built by Bhupatindra Malla In 1720A.D.
The tallest temple
of Nepal is also called Nyatpol Temple. And this Square is also famous for Newari culture. In these
palace there are two one is golden and another is white gate. So many internal
and international tourist is come to visit, it to Observe art and architecture
and the culture.
